We have stayed in this unit twice. It is right on the water and you can watch the tides every morning as well as the surfers. Very entertaining. This year we saw dolphins and whales as well. The patio as well as the unit itself feels very private. A wonderful place to stay!

Loved the beachfront condo with ocean view. Accommodations were good and condo very clean. It is my fourth year renting at North Shore Village, and all condos are clean. However, this condo was my favorite!

The condo was fabulous, clean & organized, had almost everything we needed, it was super cute and had comfortable beds. Great beach and pool access. The condo grounds are very nice and well kept. Due to Covid, the game room and gym were closed and we had to make pool reservations but it wasn’t an issue since we spent most of our time at the beach. Upon check in, the HOA rules we were given sounded over the top (no sunscreen allowed in pool, etc). I was a little worried, but it was fine, they didn’t seem to be strict at enforcing them. We brought some sheets and chairs from our home to use at the beach but the condo has a great umbrella and some chairs too. We used Walmart grocery delivery which worked perfectly to meet the driver at the gate. The condo only provides 2 tiny tubes of shampoo/conditioner, not enough for 6 people for 4 nights, so we just bought some with our groceries. There are very limited spices in the condo, no cooking oil and the fridge is clean and empty, so plan accordingly. We were not able to get “regular tv” to work to watch some games so be aware. We did have Netflix access which was great and there are lots of games there too. Location was close enough to go to San Diego and Newport Beach - and everything in between. Overall it was a great stay! Would highly recommend staying here!

The "Very Good" rating is based on the location, not this particular unit. This property is an awesome location, although beyond the location, we were not incredibly happy with unit D17. I expect we will be back to Oceanside, and when we return it will be to North Coast Village. D17 is ideally oceanfront. Any of the 14 other lower oceanfront units on this property would be equally ideal. An argument could be made that the 15 upper oceanfront units would be better because no one can walk across your patio nor peer in through your patio door. Renting from On-The-Sand.com was incredibly easy and the pre-arrival package you receive is better, more informative, more comprehensive, than we have ever received when renting elsewhere. Check in and check out both incredibly easy. North Coast Village is a well maintained, beautiful tropical paradise. The grounds are expertly landscaped and the parking garage spotless. The evening of our arrival, when preparing the coffee for the following morning, I discovered I could not make the coffee pot work. Too late at night to deal with it, so the next morning I made good old campfire coffee. While enjoying my coffee I downloaded the operating manual for that model coffee pot, and following the operating instructions, discovered the coffee pot did not work. Contacted Misty at On The Sand that day but did not hear back from them until the following day, meaning on our second morning we again enjoyed a pot of campfire coffee! By the end of our second full day there a brand new replacement coffee pot was delivered to us, thus ending our campfire coffee days! This location is awesome. While there is no direct beach access, it is such a great setting for watching the ocean and setting sun that the couple hundred steps to get sand between your toes is really no big deal. Beware! Sitting on the patio you ARE close to the ocean. At high tide the waves sometimes splash just a little over the wall and you get a bit of a salt water shower! Shops and restaurants at the harbor / marina are a short walk away. Enjoyed some really great meals with a nice, easy walk there and a leisurely stroll back after dinner. If we return to Oceanside the only place we will consider staying is North Coast Village.

What can I say? You can’t get any closer to the water. It’s amazing. The place was comfortable and had everything we needed for a weekend. It wasn’t the cleanest, but hey- you’re on the sand. Be prepared for “sugar ants” everywhere, including in your bed the first night. A few things didn’t work properly/broken but I understand that furniture and fixtures take a beating that close to the water.

D17-Beach Retreat is perfectly positioned with views of the Pier and Sunset. The furniture is very comfortable and a nice place to relax after a long day at the beach, or instead of a long day. We just love the feeling of the sea air on our faces as we sit on the patio and watch the activity on the beach or head on down ourselves. Morning walks on the sand, and rushing outside every evening to watch the sunset over the Pacific right from our patio. We enjoyed our stay and appreciate how easy it is to contact On-the-Sand if anything comes up.

My family enjoyed our stay at D17 this summer! The cottage is nicely updated and very comfortable. The mirrors and décor added the perfect touch for this beach retreat! It was so enjoyable to sit on the patio and take in the fantastic views from pier to harbor, while enjoying the nice ocean breeze. It is also perfect to be just steps away from the sand for beach walks or playing in the ocean. June was cool this year so it was perfect hoodie weather and we cannot wait to come back to this perfect little spot next summer.

So nice to sit outside and only hear the ocean...no traffic noise, no train noise, just waves. This two bedroom has all the basic necessities, just unpack and go get groceries and you’re good to go. Double and twin in second bedroom was great with two kids and the king sized bedroom window opens to hear the ocean waves and cool breezes. Having two bathrooms is a big plus. We’ve stayed in four different condos at north coast village and we will definitely return to this one.

Our only criticism was jam at check in..and the trouble parking to check in . Sad that all places seem to run the same check in day..Guest parking was tough too since we had local family for day visits. j But the location had to be one of the best in the whole complex and we wee so glad that we got that unit Check in was a nightmare, but that was the donly fly in the ointment..This was truly one of the best units and locations in the complex

My family and I throughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely condo. The grounds of North Coast Village are gorgeous and well maintained. The condo itself was nicely appointed with everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. The one problem we had was all of the people smoking staying next to us. With no air conditioning in the rental unit, all of our windows were left open to enjoy the coastal breeze which meant that our condo smelled like smoke most of the time. The units are in very close proximity to each other so with smokers all around us this was impossible to avoid. I wish that North Coast Village would not allow smoking but I don't see this happening any time soon. Otherwise this was a wonderful property and we will most likely return in the future.

Hi Chrisanne, thank you for your review. We have been working on a smoking ban in the complex and it supposed to be passed later this year. It has a lot of support throughout the complex from managers and residents alike so it's just been the HOA and board working on logistics and implementation. But we are REALLY close! Hooray!!!

What a Beautiful condo. Right on the ocean. We celebrated out 35th wedding anniversary there. Everything described on the property was correct. It was actually better than we thought. My wife wondered if it was really safe as the waves were huge breaking on the huge rocks in front of our condo. I am going to start saving now for a return trip as soon as possible.

Stayed April 24 to 29, 2017A truly remarkable location on the beach ... at low tide you have an expansive sand beach and at high tide you are on a rock jetty, you are the ocean. The unit has a nice beachi settings with ample room to move around, to cook, and to relax. The Village complex was very well laid out with a heated pool, a koi pond surrounding the spacious indoor spaces, and well maintained grounds. Within walking distance are extremely good restaurants, the Oceanside Marina, and the O side pier. Only down side was minor maintenance like sliding screen door, shower handles, and some cabinet door closures

My husband and I with our two teen boys stayed at this place for part of our spring break. The view from the living room, master bedroom, and patio was spectacular! We sat out many mornings with our coffee and evenings with a glass of wine and just watched surfers and let the sound of the waves roll over us. It was a great condo with everything you could need, including such things as tinfoil, plastic wrap, and even tupper wear and every spice imaginable. Something you don't always see in a vacation rental. The second bedroom was great for our boys. The master bed was fairly comfortable and we slept well with the sound of waves. The rental agency was very responsive and helpful and check-in was easy and pleasant. The parking garage was also a huge bonus. The pool was great and the grounds were beautiful with flowers you could spell the minute you walked onto the property. The location was great, and most days we walked either direction and found wonderful restaurants and little shops. All in all, we found this condo to be very pleasant with a location and view to be priceless! I would definitely recommend it and will look them up again if my family goes back to that area.

Hello, we loved the location and the grounds. Was very very clean and so close to the ocean.  Thank you for letting us know to bring our own towels if we needed more than 6, which we did for a week. Beach towels were awesome. Instructions were very clean with the exception of where to turn in the keys. Had no idea HOA was upstairs. They might want to put a sign at the bottom of the stairs. The grilling area was kept spotless. Liked that it was gated and we could park in a garage. We had a wonderful time. Thank you!

I should start by saying we've been coming to North Coast Village for 8 years. On The Sand, Mark and Shanna are wonderful. The condo we stay in is clean, very nice in and out, it's just great and I'm not saying which one because I want it again. I'm afraid everyone will take a week and I'll lose out:) so not telling. It's a beautiful complex, the Harbor is walking distance, Beach Break has fantastic food, the weather has never been bad, sit on your patio and watch the sunset. AHHH life is great in Our own little piece of heaven for a week. Thank you On the Sand for everything you've done for us over the years.

I found this condo to be the perfect place to relax and have fun with my grandchildren. It has everything you need for a fun vacation. The ocean view from the balcony is a bonus. And the balcony is set up to serve as an extra room. I stayed 2 months in this condo and a great deal of my time was spent on the balcony. It is awesome. The condo is tastefully appointed in an easy care beach style. I had a slight problem with the toilet. I called and it was fixed that day. I had a slight problem with the patio door. We stayed in Unit D 17 of North Coast Village for five nights in April. The Condo was very clean and comfortable. Having two bathrooms is definitely a plus. The grounds were beautiful and the location to the pier and the harbor were perfect. Nights with the windows open rewarded us with a nice breeze (and occasionally a little ocean spray) and lulled us to sleep with the roar from the ocean. We did not lack for anything in the Condo. In the kitchen there were plenty of dishes, pans and utensils. We did bring extra paper towels and salt and pepper. The beds were comfortable, extra blankets, plush towels, and beach towels. There was also a inflatable twin size mattress and a play and pack. The beach toys were a hit, boogie boards (2 large & 1 small) and sand toys. There are sand umbrellas and two sand chairs. Only downfall was that the waves were a little high at the Oceanside beaches, even at low tide, for the kids to do much more then play in the surf & sand a bit. We opted to go to LaJolla Shores, which has a marvelous beach, low surf, perfect to boogie board, so it was nice to have the things on hand to take with us. There was a lot of maintenance of the grounds going on the week we were there, but as we did not spend a lot of time during the day at the condo, it was not that big of a deal until the last day we were there, when some of the ground outside the patio was roped off due to damage from the surf... Not any fault of establishment or owners.. some things just happen. Pool, BBQ grills & hot tub was very nice (never found the 2nd pool or hot tub). The game room was nice, but unsure where you would go to get balls, cue sticks etc... Coy fish actually beg for their food.. There are nice tables and Briquette BBQ area's on the beach to utilize. The unit itself is nice to the point of being very comfortable and homey, but not overly so to where you are uncomfortable to feel at home. Guest parking is limited, guard at guard shack was very informative and helpful. Coaster train was 1.5 miles to station. Farmers market on Thursday was awesome. All and all a wonderful time. Also On-the-sand was very informative, easy to work with and always responded to my questions promptly.

We have been going to North Coast Village for the past 13 years. We always have a fantastic time. The complex is very well kept, and the location of this particular condo is second to none. We love listening to the waves at night, and the view of the ocean and beach from the patio is perfect. We have already booked again for mid summer.

This was our first time staying in this particular complex in Oceanside. We were surprised by how well the grounds are kept. As for our condo, the location can't be beat. You walk out your patio door and during high tide the waves right there. It is exactly what my wife and I were looking for. We were glad the condo had boogie boards since it gave our grandson's something to do when they visited. There were a few items that needed to be fixed such as a screen and a door knob but the repair man was in and out before we knew it. Thanks again for a great vacation. We plan to return next.

I loved being right on the beach and being able to leave my window open and hear the waves crashing! My husband and I sat out on the porch every night and enjoyed the view. We were pleasantly surprised to see some pods of dolphins a few times during our stay. We'll be back!

My sister and I, and our 86 year old mother just spent 5 days in the unit. We loved the lower level garden apartment. We ate many meals on the patio watching the dolphins and the surfers. Beautifully equipped condo. Beautiful grounds. Quiet facility. It was wonderful having everything we needed including the boogie boards and beach towels. These 63 and 65 year old women went boogie boarding. What a blast. We walked the strand every night until 11pm, and felt perfectly safe. Many places to eat are within walking distance. Gas Bbqs are by the beautiful swimming pool, and nice laundry close by. Great communication with the owners. I had no problems with the unit, but renters need to be aware only one parking spot available for your use, and because it is covered, be cautioned the clearance is 6 feet 6 inches. The Dodge pickup barely went under the clearance. Very limited extra parking for visitors. Parking permit is required, and strictly enforced for 24 hour use only. There are steps up from parking garage to the lower level garden unit we had, and 4 steps going down to the unit. I hadn't read description closely, and they were a small problem for our Mom. Wonderful stay. and we are considering staying in the same unit next year.

Had a great time. We took our grand kids and they were able to swim in the pool, go to the beach and walk with us to dinner in one of the many restaurants.There was no need to go any where else.

We have been return visitors to this unit for three years! It is our family's vacation spot that we look forward to each year! There were some great upgrades this year that only added to our enjoyment, thank you for that. Everything is clean and well maintained, and they have clearly thought out fun by providing sand toys and boogie boards to share!

There must be something right with North Coast Village in Oceanside, we keep coming back year after year after year! I ask my kids if they want to go to Disneyland or SeaWorld while we are at NCV and they just tell me no, they want another day at the beach, which is just right outside the back door! The grounds at NCV are exceptional, the beach is great. We use their BBQ area which is cleaned & maintained daily. The kids also like hanging out in the game room in the evenings. Walking the Oceanside Pier is always an interesting experience. It's mostly the beach that does it for us.

My family and I arrived to this condo in Oceanside and was pleasantly surprised at all the little extras. The kitchen is fully stocked as well as the rest of the condo. The location is the best in the area and the condo is spacious and very functional for a family. We can't wait to come back!

My family and I have visited this condo for many years now and always have the best times there. It is a super location right on the beach hearing the surf is soooooooo relaxing. Close to everything including Disney, Legoland and sea world. The train that runs the coast is just blocks from the unit parking is secure and the grounds are so lush and beautiful. You won't be dissappointed. You have use of the pool an outside bbq, putting green, Internet access, pool tables, laundry ands everything California has to offer. The condo is fully stocked with everything down to the beach toys. Were going back again this year so plan you getaway at this condo and have fun we sure will.
